Do you dream of spending your holiday at a little paradise of a nature-naturist campsite on your next trip to Corsica? Then head to Bagheera!

When something is so good that you keep returning to the same place again and again, well, in our world that’s a success! And we’ve found just such a place, which is why we’re sharing it with you. We believe the place deserves it – and so do you.

Bagheera is a little naturist paradise on the east coast of Corsica, located at the foot of the mountains and right on the beautiful Corsican sea. The campsite sits at the end of a gravel road leading from the main road through the eastern part of Corsica and is well hidden behind a large natural area filled with Corsican maquis.

Why Bagheera?

We discovered Bagheera by chance in 2009, when we were driving around in vain trying to find a place to stay. At the time, we had our only six-week-old son, Sebastian, with us, and when we finally found the place, Bagheera became the first spot we ever returned to multiple times. Since then, we’ve been back a total of six times, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

So why does the place appeal to us so much? Bagheera is not a luxury campsite, nor is it a place with flashy entertainment or gimmicky holiday features designed to chase away boredom. Bagheera is a campsite where all the unnecessary extras have been stripped away, leaving only the very best. And in our eyes, the very best means peace, quiet, nature, a beautiful beach, stunning waves, family life and its sounds – and not least, cicadas breaking the silence and weaving it together with the scent of Corsican maquis.

Eco- and Sustainable Tourism

It matters to us that the footprints we leave in the world when we travel blend with nature – or at the very least, strive to do so. Bagheera is committed to ensuring that their campsite does not disturb the wild Corsican nature around it, because it is precisely this Corsican nature that makes Bagheera so special.

A true naturist paradise

We’ve visited several naturist campsites, and some of them try so hard to be “normal” and conventional that taking off our clothes has felt unnatural. You know, those naturist campsites where the rules are so strict that you almost don’t dare remove your clothes without feeling like you’re doing something wrong.

At Bagheera, we feel that taking off our clothes is a great liberation, both because of the heat and because of the overall relaxed attitude toward clothing and the body. Naturally, it’s a naturist area, which means the place is for those of us who feel most free when shedding restrictive bikinis and swimwear. Bagheera is for people who enjoy moving around without clothes and don’t overthink it – we just do it because it feels easy and comfortable.

If you feel like putting clothes on, then you put clothes on. You won’t be judged or reprimanded with strict rules.

However, clothing is required when entering the restaurants, and photos are only allowed there – not in public areas (unless completely empty) – because taking pictures elsewhere could make other guests feel uncomfortable.

How to stay at Bagheera

There are several ways to stay at Bagheera’s campsite. The site is divided into different areas, though not strictly separated, except by the intersecting dirt roads and eucalyptus trees that fill the campsite.

You can bring your tent and pitch it in the tent area, or you can come with your campervan or camper bus. The tent area is especially cozy in the evenings, with people chatting and playing soft music, and many guests hanging up string lights and colorful lamps around their space.

You can also choose to stay in one of the many cabins, and there are lots of different types to choose from. So far, we’ve only stayed in the cabins ourselves.

What’s available at Bagheera?

Mini-Market
You don’t need to drive or cycle the few kilometers to E.Leclerc (a large supermarket) for your daily shopping. There’s a small mini-market on the campsite where you can buy the essentials and order fresh baguettes, croissants, and pastries for breakfast.

The mini-market isn’t cheap, but it’s well used. Especially in the mornings, you can hear guests strolling by in the sunshine to pick up baked goods and milk for their coffee.

Campsite Facilities
You can sign up for various activities such as yoga, water aerobics, massages, and children’s activities, though we haven’t personally taken part. We did use the small playground when Sebastian was little. Otherwise, we’ve mainly been interested in swimming in the sea, taking morning runs, or visiting the restaurant/café for coffee, beer, ice cream, and occasionally dinner. You can also rent kayaks, bicycles, and paddleboards.

Beach Snack Bar
Bagheera also has a small beach bar where you can buy drinks, ice cream, snacks, pizzas, and more. The snack bar is a nice alternative to the restaurant and provides a cool break in the blazing sun. Read more about the snack bar at Bagheera here.

Restaurant / Café / Bar

Bagheera’s restaurant is a chapter of its own, located in an unbelievably beautiful spot right by the blue waves of the sea, with a cozy atmosphere from early morning until late at night. During the day, you can buy various drinks and order meals as needed, such as breakfast or half-/full-board packages for your entire stay.

You can also simply sit back with a cup of coffee, a glass of rosé, or a cold beer and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the place.

Bagheera’s restaurant offers the most beautiful view over Linguizzetta’s stunning beaches and mountains, and when you’re in their cozy garden in the evening, you can watch the sun paint the sky in the most magnificent colors.

The restaurant has a beautiful and cozy garden where you can lounge on one of the sofas, hammocks, or sunbeds and simply enjoy the sound of the sea – and maybe some music from the restaurant.

In the evenings, the restaurant comes alive with music. Sometimes it’s cozy tunes that gently blend with the many eucalyptus trees around the campsite. But occasionally, live music is played, which, in our opinion, can be a bit too loud. For a festive night with good friends, though, it’s probably just perfect.

When we travel, we always use the last evening to go out for a meal or treat ourselves. We did the same on our last evening in Corsica, spending it at the restaurant, enjoying the final hours as the sun set over the mountains.

Our last evening at Bagheera always ends with a visit to the restaurant, or as here, in the restaurant’s garden at Bagheera.
